Arizona (AZ) Secretary of State (SOS) LLC & Business Search

Business Entity Searches can be carried out on the Arizona Secretary of State’s website to find businesses that have been registered in Arizona. The business information available from their database includes key business information such as its history and owners. You can search Arizona’s Business Entity database on three different search perimeters:

• Name
• File number
• Owner or agent

Search by business name

You can search for businesses by their name, either the whole or part of the name and a list will be generated with names containing those words.

The list that is generated details the file number, business name and status of the business.

Further details about the business can be viewed by clicking on the file number which is highlighted in blue and the public details for the business will be displayed. This includes:

• File number
• Addresses (business and mailing)
• Nature of the business
• Date registered and first use
• Expiration date
• Applicants
• Registration information
• Correspondence history

Search by file number

If you know the business’ file number you can search for them by file number.

This generates a list with just the business with that file number and the table will display the file number, business name and business status. You can click on the file number which is highlighted in blue to view the publicly available details such as their address, registration date, applicants and history, as detailed above on search by business name.

Search by owner or agent

If you want to find out what businesses a person has involvement with you can search the database by owner or agent name.

A list will be generated with the results for that person as the owner or agent and the results will display the file number, business name and business status.

The file number is highlighted in blue to indicate that you can click into the record to view further information on the business. This will include information such as their address, registration date, applicants and history, as detailed above on search by business name.

How to register a business in Arizona?

You can register your business in Arizona by following these steps:

1. Choose your business name and check the availability on the Arizona Corporation Commission.
2. Choose which business entity type you are setting up your business in.

How can I get a business license in Arizona?

Arizona doesn’t require all businesses to have licenses and some will be required to have more than one license.
