The State of Kansas Office of the Secretary of State offers a business search facility to enable you to search and view publicly available information about businesses registered in Kansas. The database can be searched by three different criteria:

The Kansas business search database can be searched by business name and can be filtered by contains or starts with to aid your search.

Search results show all businesses that match your criteria in a table showing the business name, entity ID, city and state, status and resident agent.

Further information about the business can be viewed by clicking the select business button in the left-hand column. Records include information such as:

• Formation date
• Jurisdiction
• Status
• Principal office
• Resident agent details
• Last reporting year
• Next report due date
• Forfeiture date
• Filing history

Documents can also be accessed such as the annual reports, articles of corporation and you can purchase certified copies of documents.

Search by business ID

The database can be searched by business ID if you know this ID number.

This search should result in a single record which will open directly in the business record where you can view details about the business such as their address, agent details and filing history plus more as listed above under search by business name.

Search by agent name

You can also search by resident agent name which can be filtered by either contains or starts with.

The search results will appear in a table displaying all businesses that have an agent that matches your search criteria. The details displayed include business name, entity ID, city and state, status and resident agent.

You can view more details about the business by clicking on the blue button in the first column labelled select business. This allows you to view details such as full agent details, business address and key information. A full list of available information is listed above under search by business name.

How to register a business in Kansas?
