Search by address or city
There are two searches that allow you to search the database by address details which are search by business address or business city which are available on the advanced search facility.
The results produce a list of businesses that have the address in their records and these can be further filtered by business start date, business end date, business status, business type and entity type. The list of records includes the business name, address, status, principal and agent.
The records can be viewed in more detail by clicking on the record and you can view a broad range of publicly available information including details for principals and agents and filing history as well as more information as listed above in search by business name.
Search by business ALEI
If you know the business ALEI number you can search the database by this on a basic or advanced search.
The search results will produce a single record as the ALEI is a unique number to the business. The record can be viewed in more detail by clicking on the record where you can see information such as status, type, address, agent and principal details.
Search by filing number
You can also search for businesses by filing numbers if you know what a business’ filing number is on a basic or advanced search.
A single record should be provided from this search as the filing number is unique to the document and it should produce the record for the business that the document was filed for. You can view more details about the business by clicking on the record to see information such as business type, status, filing history, principal and agent details.
Search by principal name
You can do name searches on the Connecticut Business Record Search which includes searching the principal name on an advanced search. You need to select the principal name in the search by box and then enter the first and last name in separate search boxes.
The results are presented in a list which can be further filtered by business start date, business end date, business status, business type and entity type.
Basic details of the businesses are available in the list but more can be seen by clicking on the record you want to view which includes status, filing history, agent details and more as listed above in search by business name.
Search by agent name
The Business Record Search can be searched by agent name on the advanced search by selecting the agent name on the search by box and then entering the first and last name in separate search boxes.
The results generate a list of businesses that have the agent name searched for on their record. The list can be further filtered by business start date, business end date, business status, business type and entity type.
If you want to view more information about any of the businesses you can click on the record and then you can view information such as business type, formation information, principal details and filing history.
